Elija Blue Fescue

Common name:Elija Blue Fescue
Botanical name:Festuca 'Elija Blue'

The 'Elijah Blue' is a dwarf, very glaucous variety with almost white foliage. It should receive sun and little summer watering. -Monterey Bay Nursrey

Crape Myrtle

Common name:Crape Myrtle
Botanical name:Lagerstroemia indica

The new leaves of this species are 2" long, bright gren, and tinged with bronze. Its fall color is affected by the weather. While it has a bare outline, its rounded seed capsules add interest. Its delicate flowers bloom in 6-12" long clusters. The colors of its flowers are shades of red, rose, pink, purple, and white. It thrives on heat, and new cultivars have been created that resist mildew.

Zebra Iris

Common name:Zebra Iris
Botanical name:Iris pallida 'Argentea Variegata'

This garden favorite is grown more for its striking silver variegated foliage than its fragrant blue blooms. Avoid intense heat and poor drainage. Deciduous.

Rozanne Cranesbil

Common name:Rozanne Cranesbil
Botanical name:Geranium 'Rozanne'

Roazanne is a beautiful perennial display addition. The palmately lobed and toothed deep green leaves are accented by clusters of 1.5" pure blue flowers that bloom from June to July.

English Lavender

Common name:English Lavender
Botanical name:Lavandula angustifolia

A well-developed woody base is apparent with this evergreen subshrub. Its leaves assume an obtuse form, and have a grey-green color above and a white tomentose shade below. It is fragarant and needs little water, full sun, and well drained soils.

Soils and Compost:

Practice grass-cycling by leaving short grass clippings on lawns after mowing, so that nutrients and organic matter are returned to the soil.

Integrated Pest Management:

Remove irrigation water and fertilizer from areas where you don't want weeds to grow.
