Juniperus chinensis 'Blue Point'
Blue Point Juniper
Description
A favorite for stately lawn specimens and tall screens. Glowing blue-green foliage on a densely branched, broad pyramid form that maintains its natural form well with practically no pruning. Clipped topiary forms make a wonderful formal accent in entrances or on patios. Evergreen. Pyramidal form and massive size makes it a popular specimen for lawns, which accentuate its blue coloring. Position near the driveway or to frame the front entry. With its dense evergreen foliage, this Juniper makes excellent windbreaks if lined up hedge-style, cutting winter cold and summer heat effectively. Makes an effective front lawn Christmas tree for winter lighting or to enjoy under snow. Highly adaptable and easy to grow in most well-drained soils; avoid overly wet conditions. Water deeply, regularly during first growing season to establish an extensive root system; reduce frequency once established. Apply a slow release fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. Prune annually to shape. Reaches 12' tall and 8' wide. Best in full sun. Tolerates coastal conditions and urban pollution. Deer resistant.

Dig-up patches of weeds and undesirable grasses from turf areas.
Use water to grow the turf you want, not the weeds you don't want! Once you have eliminated what you don't want, add sod or over-seed to repair the bare areas.
