Description

An unusual, shrubby cultivar producing sensational clusters of bright red to pink blooms on upright, arching branches; perfect as a garden accent, screen, or container plant. Torch Glow Bougainvillea is covered in stunning, cherry red, round flowers held atop the branches from late spring to mid fall. It has dark green, evergreen foliage. The glossy pointy leaves remain dark green throughout the winter. Torch Glow Bougainvillea is a multi-stemmed, evergreen shrub with a mounded form. This shrub will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and can be pruned at anytime. It is a good choice for attracting butterflies to your yard. Torch Glow Bougainvillea will grow to be about 7 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 3 feet. It tends to fill out right to the ground and therefore doesn't necessarily require facer plants in front, and is suitable for planting under power lines. It grows at a fast rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 20 years. This shrub should only be grown in full sunlight. It prefers dry to average moisture levels with very well-drained soil, and will often die in standing water. It is considered to be drought-tolerant, and thus makes an ideal choice for xeriscaping or the moisture-conserving landscape. It is not particular as to soil type or pH, and is able to handle environmental salt. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. Torch Glow Bougainvillea makes a fine choice for the outdoor landscape, but it is also well-suited for use in outdoor containers and hanging baskets.

Water Saving Tip:

Dig-up patches of weeds and undesirable grasses from turf areas.

Use water to grow the turf you want, not the weeds you don't want! Once you have eliminated what you don't want, add sod or over-seed to repair the bare areas.
