Description

One of the finest trailing junipers having a uniform, full centered growth habit with intense silver-blue evergreen foliage. Excellent for large scale groundcovers or cascading over walls. In very cold regions, this blue Juniper adapts well to snow and frost. Lovely when planted around boulders or in rock gardens, where its twisted branches can be trained to unique forms. A reliable plant for high desert with its rapidly fluctuating day and night temperatures. Thrives in rocky, thin mountain soils or the sandy gravel of inland deserts. Use on slopes for coverage or erosion control. Plant along retaining walls and curbs, where the creeping foliage will cover them year-round. Good along the hot, heat-reflective edges of streets and driveways. Resistant to deer. Prefers sandy soils on the dry side, but adaptable to a wide range of well-drained soils. Water deeply, regularly during first growing season to establish an extensive root system; reduce frequency once established. As a groundcover, space plants 5 to 6 ft. apart, or closer for faster coverage. Control weeds with mulch until the plants cover the area. Quickly reaches 6" tall, spreading 6-8' wide.

Water Saving Tip:

Apply as little fertilizer as possible.

If you use fertilizer make sure it stays on the landscape, and carefully water it in so there is NO runoff.
