Fremontodendron 'Pacific Sunset'
Pacific Sunset Flannel Bush
Description
'Pacific Sunset' is an open and spreading evergreen shrub that quickly reaches 20' tall and wide. Leaves are evergreen and gray green. Deep orange yellow, large flowers appear in spring, attracting bees. Mostly green capsules appear in fall, creating some litter. It does best in full sun and well draining, sandy or rocky soil. It looks great if espaliered. No summer water required after it's established. Leaves and capsules have irritating hairs so wear protective gloves when pruning.
