Description

Upright, desert tree to 25' tall and 20' wide. Will grow moderately fast with monthly irrigation. Trees bloom profusely in spring with clusters of golden-yellow blossoms. Arizona native at 4000' and also Southern California native. This long-lived deciduous tree produces green legumes or fruit in the fall, creating litter. Birds, bees and deer love this tree! Branches form erect rounded graceful tree usually low branching. Watch out for thorns. Bark can be green or reddish brown, smooth or exfoliating.
