Botanical name:Arctostaphylos glauca
This beautiful manzanita is a shrub that also looks like a small tree, slowly reaching 15' tall and wide. Bark is reddish brown color. Evergreen leaves are rounded and blue green. Lantern-shaped clusters of white-pink flowers hang from short red stems in winter and through spring. Bees, butterflies and hummingbirds love these flowers. After bloom period, edible berries to a red color, providing food for mammals and birds. It does best in full sun with acidic, well draining soil. Established plants are drought tolerant. Great plant for hillsides. Prune only during summer.
