Common name:Brazilian Lilac Verbena
Botanical name:Verbena bonariensis

This 4-5' plant is a drought-hardy performer, with blooms atop the sturdy, squarish stem all summer and fall. The flower is a striking purple tuft that makes a good fresh or dried flower. The sparse foliage makes this a great accent flower that hovers high and blends well. Deadheading will prolong its blooming. -Holland WIldflower Farm

Blue Glow Agave

This beautiful succulent slowly reaches 2' tall and 3' wide. Leaves are thick, blue green, 18" long, 2.5" wide, with red and yellow margins. The tip of the leaf has a red spine. It tolerates full sun although it needs shade in low desert areas. It needs well draining soil. Sap from plant irritates some people's skin. It is drought tolerant once it's established.

Berlandier's Sundrops

The showy, yellow flowers of Berlandier’s sundrops are 2 in. across with four, broad, crinkled petals. This is a bushy, 4-20 in. plant that sometimes becomes woody near the base. Its leaves are narrow and spiny-toothed. Plant in full sun or half day sun in a well-drained soils with occasional to infrequent irrigation.

Long John Grevillea

Botanical name:Grevillea 'Long John'

This delicate looking shrub will reach about 8'-10' tall and wide. It has thick, sturdy brown stems with small, bright green, needle-like leaves and elegant red and orange flowers that bloom in spring. This shrub looks like a beautiful pine with gorgeous flowers. It has low watering needs once it's established. It prefers full to part sun with well draining soil. This makes a great hedge or screen. Hummingbirds love this shrub too.
