This attractive succulent has fleshy leaves that form rosettes, with an overall diameter of 12". Foliage is apple green color with a terminal spine and reddish margins. Flower stalks rise up from the center in spring and summer with tiny red and yellow flowers. This plant tolerates full to part sun and needs well draining, dry, well draining, sandy or rocky soil. Beautiful in containers and rock gardens. Great for a Southwest or desert themed garden.

These plants are one of the most useful succulents, due to their decorative effects and sculpturesque quality. Decorum is short and bushy with variegated leaves of green and a tinge of red. They need some shade in hotter areas. Flowers are whitish pink.

A unique, densely carpeting groundcover with fine white cotton like threads between the leaves tips that form a cobweb appearance. Aptly called “Cobweb Buttons” this plant is one of the many sempervivums in cultivar today. The green leaves can change colors with the seasons to a deep red, almost purple hue. Many sempervivum have the common name, “Hens & Chicks”, referring to the growth pattern of the plant.
